I was lucky enough to join Cape Town’s foodie crowd at the launch of Reuben’s Restaurant & Bar in the stunning new location in Franschhoek.
Reuben’s new menu is made up of tasting plate dishes, designed to be shared with the whole table, which is a great way to enjoy his food in the ambient & stylish new dining room. The food is what I like to call ‘proper cooking’ at its best. No fuss, no messing about; just beautiful ingredients, shown to perfection and served with finesse.
The menu consists of some real crowd pleasers. My favourites included the Fresh Oysters and Smoked Paprika Oil, Sea-bass and Roasted Scallops, Tuna Tataki, Sticky Duck, Sweetcorn Polenta, Lamb Rack and of course, everyone’s favourite – the Chocolate Fondant.
Reuben’s new spot is somewhere that I can see myself visiting for a long lazy lunch, time and time again. Thank you to Reuben and his team for truly excellent afternoon… I will definitely be back!
