The brand new BSH Showrooms, featuring appliances from Bosch, Siemens and Gaggenau, launched in May. To celebrate the opening of the two top-of-the-range appliance showrooms in Cape Town and Johannesburg, I joined the likes of Paul Hartmann, Freddy Dias and Marthinus Ferreira to try out some of the latest leading kitchen technology.
Canapés and snacks where served by Johnny Hamman & Marius Uys from the Slippery Spoon. Even I made sure to get a bowl of their slow cooked lamb and lamb fat roasties!
The always lovely and talented Melinda Bam joined me on the Siemens stage to show guests a few tricks of the trade, as well as some top tips for using Siemens’ modern appliances.
I served my pork bao bun using the new Siemens steamer appliance, which aerated the buns to perfection. The succulent low n’ slow cooked Ribeye steak (75ºC for 2.5 hours) demonstrated the precision of Siemens’ slow cook technology, while the induction chargrill crisped my french toast like a dream.
The new BSH Showrooms are open to the public Monday – Friday. You can visit the Cape Town showroom on Bree Street and the Joburg showroom on Archimedes Street in Krammerville.
