Private Chef Matt Manning and Arendsig wine farm are back to bring you round #3 of the wildly popular ‘Rendezvous in Robertson’; the ultimate gastronomic getaway for anyone who loves food and wine (that’s all of us, right?)

Friday | Dinner Affair 

The full weekend experience is hosted at Arendsig wine farm, situated in the middle of the picturesque Robertson valley. The weekend begins on a high note, with Matt serving up a five course dinner (plus canapés). Each course is paired with one of Arendsig’s handcrafted wines, while Lourens van der Westhuizen takes guests through the winemaking process, explaining why the wines have so much ‘body’ (insiders’ joke ) 😉

Guests can relax after dinner before retiring to their accommodation – simple but comfortable converted farm cottages.

Saturday | Harvest Table

We start the day with a light breakfast, after which guests are free to roam the farm and relax by the river. Around noon-ish, Lourens will treat guests to a barrel wine tasting, before lunch is served late afternoon. It’s going to be a lazy, long, languid affair – served harvest-table style – with Matt showing off spring’s freshest bounty to spectacular effect, leaving your senses singing!

Lunch will finish up in the evening, and guests can enjoy a few more glasses of wine around the outdoor fire – with no city lights to detract from the twinkling night sky.

Sunday | The Big Brunch 

To nurse those inevitable hangovers, guests are treated to one of Matt’s famous Big Brunches… think poached eggs with bacon fat Hollandaise, quail egg bao buns, potato rosti, smoked trout, platters of cheese and seasonal fruit, banana bread French toast soaked in a crème fraiche batter – you name it!

Of course, the great thing about brunch is that it’s perfectly acceptable to enjoy a glass or two of wine to wash down those eggs and bacon; in fact, we encourage it!
