Chef Matt is back to bring you another fantastic food & wine experience, Soirée with Sijnn! This time round we partner with Sijnn wine farm in Malgas, renowned for its extraordinary wines crafted with minimal intervention.
On Friday, Chef Matt will serve up a pot of spicy curry at Tides River Lodge(a few minutes’ drive from Sijnn.) Sijnn winemaker Charla Haasbroek will treat us to some of her favourite vintages, while guests indulge in a couple of rounds of Cards Against Humanity.
At the end of the evening, guests retire to their charming cottages at Tides. dotted along the Breede river.
Guests who stay over on Friday are served a light breakfast. Those driving through on Saturday can check in at Tides, before everyone reconvenes at 15h30 for a lazy, six course lunch that will extend well into the evening.
For those feeling peckish later that night, we will light up the fire and toast braai broodjies and s’mores, while guests enjoy a couple of Sijnn’s older vintages under the stars.
Sunday | Hair-of-the-Dog Brunch
To nurse those inevitable hangovers, guests are treated to one of Chef Matt’s famous Big Brunches… think quail egg & pork bao buns, potato rosti, platters of cheese and seasonal fruit, French toast in a batter of crème fraiche, spicy huevos rancheros – all washed down with a glass (or three!) of Sijnn’s.
