The Wines & The Art

The Wines

No One Ingredient dinner would be the same without the wine, hell no dinner would be the same with out wine! For next week’s Garlic Menu we have managed to line up two of the Cape’s most influential wine aficionados, Ewan Mackenzie and David Wibberley.

Thursday evening we will be joined by Sommelier Ewan Mackenzie aka The Wine Thief! He will be bringing along some incredible wines for us to taste, some of which he has bottled himself.

Ewan specialises in sourcing, making and co-curating very unique, small-batch wines with a selection of incredibly talented winemakers.

You can often find him in and around town collaborating with exciting wine farms to bring funky and insightful wine tasting events to the good people of Cape Town.

The Friday night we are joined by the exceptional David Wibberley who will be showcasing some fantastic vintages from Oldenburg Vineyards. David has spent 17 years in the industry honing his craft in the cellar as well as in the tasting room.
Oldenburg Vineyards produce small quantities of hand-crafted red and white wines from both Bordeaux and Rhône varietals. Their offerings include a Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and a Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Art Work

In addition to fantastic wine and food, this year at One Ingredient ‘Just Dinner’ you will also get to feast your eyes on some of the incredible art work that hangs on the walls at Food+LAB. The current featured exhibition ‘Visage’ includes colourful portrait works by Marittie De Villiers as well as the unique oil on wood works of Kelly John Gough. Intricate works by Christo du Toit and Gill Allderman are also on display.
